Jessy’s Toy Box March 5,2020

What have we been up to?

It has been a very busy winter. We had a successful collection of toys during Christmas and they are continuing to come in with all of the schools taking part in class projects and businesses continued support with keeping toy boxes in their locations. I am so thankful for all the continued support that everyone keeps showing us.

Giving Hearts Day
This year we took part in our first Giving Hearts Day. WOW, what a great success! We didn’t reach our actual goal, but I felt for our first year we had a huge success. I want to personally thank each and every one of you who participated in this year’s event. I also want to thank Hub International Insurance, Lidgerwood branch. Shelly Manske and Jennifer Mauch volunteered on GHD as an opportunity, Hub Insurance allows their employees. We are coming up with some awesome ideas for next year. I cannot wait to share them when the time gets closer. Next year GHD is on February 11, 2021.

DeliveringWe have been busy making lots of deliveries to hospitals in North Dakota. We have taken loads to Fargo’s Sanford’s Children’s and Essentia. We also delivered to Roger Maris Infusion Center and to the Ronald McDonald House. We have also taken deliveries to Grand Forks.
Minnesota We have made multiple trips to Mayo’s St. Mary’s and to The Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis. We even had a delivery made to the Buffalo hospital in Buffalo, Mn.
Florida we have been very lucky with our support in the Sarasota/Venice areas. Barb has been busy collecting and distributing toys to the Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

North Dakota area…. I am looking for people who are in the area or who are coming here from other communities in ND that would love to deliver some toys to local Children’s Hospitals. Please message me if you are interested in helping.

Amazon Did you know that a percentage of every order you place on Amazon Smiles will be donated to Jessy’s Toy Box. It is simple, all you have to do is log into your account through Amazon Smiles and select Jessy’s Toy Box as your non-profit. So far we have raised $183.74. We also have a wishlist on Amazon that can help you with selecting items that are needed. The best part about this is it ships to us for free. I love sharing photos of the toys we receive on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

New Locations……

We are looking to expand Jessy’s Toy Box to your area in any state. Please contact me if you would like to learn more about bringing Jessy’s Toy Box to your area.

Volunteer Highlights…….
I am beyond amazed by today’s schools and their involvement with helping Jessy and his mission. We have 2 schools that went above and beyond to help.
Wyndmere Public School
The Ag program once again made 10 new toy boxes for us. WOW… They left us speechless….

Hat Day was a huge success in February each student paid $1.00 to wear a hat during school. They collected over $90.00.
Jessy’s Class for the month of March is taking reading month to a new adventure. People can sponsor a student and for every book read they can donate $1.00 all proceeds are going towards the toy box. I hear that is a GREAT incentive to get the students to read. Parents have been having to replace batteries, since the kids aren’t putting the books down even when it is time for bed! Great job Mrs. Illies and Ms. Sheppard. I hear there are other schools wanting to join in this experience next year!

Hankinson Public School
Megan Wolter a junior at HHS challenged other ITV schools in collecting for JTB. She collected toys at the school and raised over $200.00 Great job, Megan!
